About the Doctor

Dr. Sumit Agrawal trained at some of India's top medical institutions: MBBS from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi; MS General Surgery from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi; and M.Ch Urology from AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
He then served as Assistant Professor, Department of Urology & Renal Transplant at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, where he completed a Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgery Fellowship, taught urology residents and worked with the kidney transplant team. What are the OPD timings?
Monday to Saturday, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM; Sunday 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM (by prior appointment) at Sarthak Hospital, Panna Road, Satna. Please call or WhatsApp 73894 94988 to book. For Sunday, please book in advance.
Can kidney stones be removed without a cut?
Yes. Most kidney and ureter stones can be broken with laser through the natural urine passage (URS / RIRS), or removed through a small keyhole (PCNL). Small stones may pass with medicines alone. The best option depends on the size and location of the stone.
When should I see a urologist?
See a urologist if you have pain in the back or side, burning or difficulty while passing urine, blood in urine, frequent urination at night, weak urine stream, urine leakage, or sexual health concerns.
Is prostate surgery possible without a cut?
Yes. Enlarged prostate is treated endoscopically through the urine passage (TURP / enucleation of prostate), so there is no external wound and recovery is quick. Many patients are first managed with medicines.
